How It Works
The goal: 20-0
Build a team that runs the table. A perfect season is 20-0: a 17-0 regular season earns the #1 seed and a first-round bye, then three straight playoff wins — the Divisional round, the Conference Championship, and the Super Bowl. It's meant to be rare. Most rosters don't get there, and that's the point.
Spin & draft
Each round you spin onto a real team and season and see that whole squad. Pick one player into an open slot. Your roster is 12 players — six on offense (QB, RB, WR, TE and two FLEX) and six on defense (EDGE, DT, LB, CB, S and a D-FLEX).
- Fill in any order. There's no offense-first rule — the board highlights your open positions and you draft them however you want.
- FLEX and versatile players accept multiple positions, so an edge/linebacker type can slot into more than one spot.
- Re-rolls depend on difficulty (Easy 5 → Legend 0). Don't like a spin? Spend one if you have it.
How ratings work
Every rating is era-relative: a player is judged against their own era's peers at the same position, so a 2002 star and a 2024 star are measured fairly. Impact plays — touchdowns, sacks, interceptions — count the most, with a boost for All-Pro honors.
By default the rating is shown on each card. Prefer a real challenge? Turn on blind mode (it's forced on Legend): every rating becomes a ? and you draft on the stats, the year, and your own football knowledge.
Why 1999?
Our ratings lean on complete, consistent play-by-play data for every position — the foundation for grading players fairly against their era. That coverage (especially for defense and the trenches) only becomes reliable from 1999 onward; going earlier would mean guessing at numbers. So our window is 1999–2025, and we'd rather be honest about that line than fake the seasons before it.
How scoring works
Your projected record is the position-weighted strength of all 12 starters. Premium positions count for more, so a star there is worth chasing:
Here's our twist: those weights aren't fixed. Your gameplan reshapes them. An Air Raid leans hard on WR and QB; a ground-and-pound scheme pumps up RB and TE; a lockdown defense rewards CB and S. The same roster can score differently depending on the plan you set — so draft and scheme have to fit each other.
Balance is everything. Strength is an average, so a single weak spot drags the whole roster down. Only a near-flawless 12 runs the table.
